First-class API testing

A dedicated agent writes and runs validation code against your API, under the same rules as web and mobile.

STOCKHOLM, 28 August 2026 – API tests in QA.tech are no longer a configuration bolted onto a web test. An API application is its own kind of application, with its own agent.

How it works

The agent takes a test case's goal, expected result and steps in plain language, translates them into HTTP requests and validation code, runs that code in an isolated sandbox and reports a verdict with a review of what it checked. Custom Fields hold API keys, headers and test data, so credentials never sit in a step.

Same rules everywhere

Agent rules set for a project now appear as a mandatory rules section in the API testing agent's prompt. The rules that govern web and mobile testing apply to API tests too, so a team writes its conventions once.

Why it matters

A change that breaks an API contract usually breaks it for a customer's integration first. Testing the API as a first-class application, with the same verification layer as the UI, closes that gap without a second tool.
